COLAROA

FAQ

Straight answers about the COLAROA 3-in-1 fine mesh strainer set. Something missing? Ask us on the contact page.

What mesh sizes come in the set?
Three cups that all fit the same handle: 20 mesh (coarse) for rinsing pasta, berries and beans; 40 mesh (medium) for tea, juice and stock; 60 mesh (fine) for sifting flour, dusting cocoa and nut milk.
Will the handle break off like my old strainer?
Ordinary strainers fail where the handle is welded to the bowl. COLAROA has no weld between handle and cup: the cup spring-fits into a solid 3 mm stainless wire frame, so the joint that usually snaps does not exist.
Is it dishwasher safe?
Yes. The handle and all three mesh cups are dishwasher safe. A quick rinse right after use keeps the fine mesh clearest.
What is it made of?
304 stainless steel: the mesh cups and the 3 mm solid wire handle.
How do I swap the cups?
The cup spring-fits into the handle frame and swaps in seconds with no tools. Press it in to seat it, flex the frame slightly to release it.
How big is it?
Each cup is about 4 inches (100 mm) across and 1.4 inches (35 mm) deep. The whole tool is about 9.4 inches (240 mm) long and rests on mugs, jars and small bowls.
Can I use a mesh cup without the handle?
Yes. Each cup sits on a mug or jar by its rim, which is handy in narrow spaces and for brewing loose-leaf tea straight into a cup.
Where can I buy COLAROA?
On Amazon, very soon. Join the launch list on our home page: the list hears 48 hours before anyone else and receives a 15% discount code that works during launch week.
Which mesh should I use for what?
Coarse 20 mesh: rice, quinoa, beans, berries. Medium 40 mesh: tea, juice, gravy, stock. Fine 60 mesh: flour, cocoa, powdered sugar, nut milk, cold brew.
How do I clean the fine mesh?
Rinse under running water right after use, or put it in the dishwasher. A soft brush clears flour or cocoa from the 60 mesh cup.
